Oswald Reviews: LarryBoy and the Bad Apple (PS2)

Veggietales was an odd idea for a kids show. Whoever said that mixing talking vegetables with Christian Bible stories was a good idea is certainly on some kind of drug. All jokes aside, Veggietales was an interesting, silly take on parables and Scripture tales that a lot of kids enjoyed. Even if you’re not Christian, the show still teaches valuable lessons on how to deal with bullies and growing up. There was one problem I had with the show (besides the stupid idea): the video games.

These games were always bad. Even as a kid, while I still enjoyed them, I always wanted to give up on them. I didn’t remember why until I brought out the old consoles. The one that caught my eye was the Playstation 2 and my dusty copy of LarryBoy and the Bad Apple. Was this game as silly and fun as the show, or does this bad apple go straight to the garbage can? Let’s see.

Why Use Motion Capture Animation?

Animation is a very diverse medium isn’t it? There are so many different ways to make an animated show or film. There’s hand-drawn animation, cut-out animation, CG animation, there’s just so many to count!

But the one method that seems to have such a bad rep is Motion Capture animation. Everyone seems to have the same opinion about it. People have said stuff like, “Why use motion capture if real people are right there?” And to be totally honest, I see where they’re coming from.

Why do people use motion capture animation? Why should you even use it at all?

Oswald Reviews: The Pebble and the Penguin

Hey guys! I just watched The Pebble and the Penguin, and boy, I didn’t like it at all. I know one person who likes film, but that’s it. I couldn’t stand watching this film. Why? Let’s see.

Story: The story is kind of boring. The characters are extremely underdeveloped and they are dumb and forgettable. The main character is a complete idiot, the main love interest is useless, and the villain is really weak. I don’t really understand this guy’s motive for marrying the girl penguin.

The story was terrible.

Animation: To be fair, the animation is rather nice. This is Don. Bluth we’re talking about. The scenery is nice and the colors serve for a very interesting picture.

Overall, the animation isn’t that bad.

Characters: I already talked about the characters in the story part of the review. So in all the characters are dumb, underdeveloped, ane bland as heck. But somehow I have something to like about it.

The characters are bad, but for some reason I like them.

Songs: The songs are really bad. God, they are bad. They are completely unoriginal, and half the time, I don’t understand what they mean. “Sometimes I wonder what the colors mean.” What the heck does that even mean?

The songs are unoriginal and bland.

In conclusion, this movie was bad, but I have seen worse from Don Bluth. I was able to sit through it, but Ben and Happy Llama couldn’t!

Animation: 6

DISNEY CHANNEL WEEK! ...oh god no...

I love Disney. I love Disney a lot. But that doesn’t mean I like all of it.

If you don’t know, I hate Disney Channel. I hate the fact that it had cheesy humor and similarly cheesy show. It went against the vision of Walt Disney by only aiming the entertainment at the pre-teen age. There are no shows on there aimed for children and adults…

Okay… Phineas and Ferb is good… I have to admit that…

But next week, starting on Sunday, I’ll be talking about the Disney Channel shows I hate the most.

So sit back, relax, and prepare yourself for some cheesy and awkward comedy! See you later, Animators!
