Unlike Bubsy and Battletoads, The Super Mario Brothers Super Show actually was picked up for a full cartoon. I actually remember watching this as a kid. I actually really liked to pick up a copy of the show from Blockbuster. It was something I really enjoyed as a kid. Does it hold up? Well, let’s see.
Veggietales was an odd idea for a kids show. Whoever said that mixing talking vegetables with Christian Bible stories was a good idea is certainly on some kind of drug. All jokes aside, Veggietales was an interesting, silly take on parables and Scripture tales that a lot of kids enjoyed. Even if you’re not Christian, the show still teaches valuable lessons on how to deal with bullies and growing up. There was one problem I had with the show (besides the stupid idea): the video games.
These games were always bad. Even as a kid, while I still enjoyed them, I always wanted to give up on them. I didn’t remember why until I brought out the old consoles. The one that caught my eye was the Playstation 2 and my dusty copy of LarryBoy and the Bad Apple. Was this game as silly and fun as the show, or does this bad apple go straight to the garbage can? Let’s see.
I love Christmas! There’s nothing better than drinking hot cocoa in front of the warm fire during a cold winter’s night. The season of giving and, of course, Christmas specials!
I thoroughly enjoy watching a good dose of The Grinch and Charlie Brown. They are just such classics. But then there are the other ones, the ones that everyone forgets about. The ones that make your stomach churn the minute you hear their name. I’m talking about the Christmas catastrophe, “The Christmas Tree.”
But let’s be a bit more forgiving here. Can this not be as bad as it looks? Or is it truly the worst Christmas special of all time? I mean, how could such a seemingly innocent tale be so bad? Let’s see.
…you guys don’t want this. You do NOT want me to review this. This movie has broken me. You can’t even imagine the horror of…Foodfight.
I realize I have to admit it someday, so might as well get it over with.
…I DON’T THINK THE MINIONS ARE FUNNY.
Yeah. You heard me correctly. I never thought the minions were funny. Well, I knew the little kids would appreciate the slapstick humor and the fact that we can’t understand them, but I never though that nearly EVERYONE IN THE FRIGGIN UNIVERSE would like them! Everyone I know keeps on telling me how amazingly funny they are and how they laugh every time say see them. I don’t understand the phenomenon.
Why do I dislike these little yellow pills so much?
Obviously this film is no masterpiece. Why? Let’s see.
You guys saw it coming. You knew I would eventually see this. And my god, I did it. I saw this terrible film. I’ve never seen a worse rip off since Transmorphers. What made this film so terrible? Let’s see.
Hey guys! I just watched The Pebble and the Penguin, and boy, I didn’t like it at all. I know one person who likes film, but that’s it. I couldn’t stand watching this film. Why? Let’s see.
Story: The story is kind of boring. The characters are extremely underdeveloped and they are dumb and forgettable. The main character is a complete idiot, the main love interest is useless, and the villain is really weak. I don’t really understand this guy’s motive for marrying the girl penguin.
The story was terrible.
Animation: To be fair, the animation is rather nice. This is Don. Bluth we’re talking about. The scenery is nice and the colors serve for a very interesting picture.
Overall, the animation isn’t that bad.
Characters: I already talked about the characters in the story part of the review. So in all the characters are dumb, underdeveloped, ane bland as heck. But somehow I have something to like about it.
The characters are bad, but for some reason I like them.
Songs: The songs are really bad. God, they are bad. They are completely unoriginal, and half the time, I don’t understand what they mean. “Sometimes I wonder what the colors mean.” What the heck does that even mean?
The songs are unoriginal and bland.
In conclusion, this movie was bad, but I have seen worse from Don Bluth. I was able to sit through it, but Ben and Happy Llama couldn’t!
Is there any part of Disney Channel that I like? Actually, Yes. I like the cartoons. I find them funny and creative.
Maybe it’s the fact that it’s Disney doing what they do best. Maybe the fact that there is effort in what they are doing. Whatever it is, I like them. If it’s not Fish Hooks, I am fine.
Why do I find them great? Let’s find out.
